Protecting your yard against infectious diseases

There are many things you can do to ensure your yard is protected against infectious diseases.

By having biosecurity and disease control as a priority, through good yard management, it is possible to avoid disease and keep all the horses and owners on your yard healthy and happy.

For effective infectious disease preventative, identify your risk factors and become familiar with which infectious diseases can pose a risk for you. To help we have a risk assessment you can use as a guide.

Then by setting up protocols and communicating to everyone on your yard what needs to happen to prevent  disease you can avoid outbreak situations. It is essential everyone understands importance of biosecurity and adheres to the protocol you set out.
